At 2 weeks old, Isabella had what her parents thought was a cold. Emily took her to the doctor and was told she needed x-rays. She was tested for RSV, which she tested positive for. Because her heart rate was dropping, Isabella was transported by ambulance to Helen Devos Children's Hospital. On January 2, she was transferred to NICU, where she was placed on a ventilator. They tried to do a spinal tap to see if she had an infection, but because they couldn't get any fluids, they were unable to continue that procedure. The doctors are hoping to feed her through a tube today and continue to give her IV fluids. They will be treating her for an infection, as blood work showed there may be an infection somewhere.
Money raised through gofundme will be used to help offset medical costs and to help with gas and food for Emily and Jonathon as they are not sure how long Isabella will be in the hospital.
Jonathon is the sole provider for their family. Living on one income and having a baby in the hospital is a huge financial burden for this young couple. Any donation, large or small, would be appreciated.
