Hello, our names are Lauren Quirke and Hannah Scannell and we are TY students from St Clares College Ballyjamesduff.
Killian’s Campaign is a campaign dedicated to raising awareness on the dangers of swimming in lakes, rivers and reservoirs in Ireland and to support The Air Ambulance and Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
We are doing this campaign because our good friend Killian lost his life in Lough Sheelin in July of this year.
Killian was only 15 years old
Our aims of this campaign are as follows:
•Positioning warning signs at our local bathing lakes
•Raising funds by selling personalised keyrings
•Raising funds for a professional education programme to be introduced in schools
•Engaging in the research on the dangers of swimming in non-lifeguarded lakes.
•Exploring the possibility for the funding of lifeguards at the times of the year when people swim in these locations.
We would be so grateful if you would support this fundraiser to help us raise awareness and to ensure that no other family have to go through the pain that the Casey Family and our community have gone through.
