Working Single Mom, to purchase reliable vehicle
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kehana. I am fundraising to purchase a reliable vehicle to help me continue to work and provide a living for my daughter and me. Like many others, my life has been impacted by the pandemic, soaring housing prices, and economic inflation that has taken place. I’m humbled that you would take the time to read this. I was raised to believe in Christ, work hard, and to appreciate “The Village,” which is why I’ve decided to ask in His name to raise up people to help me purchase a reliable vehicle.
This fundraiser is important to me as it will afford me the opportunity to pay cash for a vehicle and be a better role model for my daughter. This will kickstart a much-needed positive cycle for us. I want to do something different that will help me live within or below my means. I never really learned about credit and savings as this wasn’t something that was apart of our upbringing. I also didn’t understand what being successful was as I always thought if I worked hard and lived in good environments, that this would help me feel accomplished. My whole life has been filled with many obstacles and challenges that through my faith in God I’ve been able to overcome. This past 3 years has been a season that has been filled with non-stop obstacles which has been humbling and rewarding all at the same time. Through job layoffs, episodes of depression, loss of cars, housing, etc. my faith continues to be stretched. This time has also helped me realize that I needed to do something different in order to see different results. I’ve raised 2 older kids Since I had my first set of kids at the age of 15 & 17, I’ve strived to break generational cycles by working hard and raising my kids differently that I was raised. I can’t say that all my choices have been the best, but I do know that my intentions have been good and that every trial is a testament of my faith and allowing God to have the glory. God led me to a career in the Mortgage Industry where I was able to work my way up and earn a decent salary. I worked hard to provide for us through a career in the Mortgage Industry and as a Licensed Real Estate Agent (combined 24 years). I never thought that I would find myself in situational poverty but it’s now a reality for me. After 13 months of being unemployed and waiting for God’s guidance, I finally landed a job with a local Non-profit organization that teaches life and work principles through biblical principles. I also went through the job training program myself and graduated May 2022. This organization also pushed me to complete my high school education by obtaining my High School diploma through an online GED program in 6 weeks. Through this time of being unemployed I became more dependent on Christ’s guidance and His timing. I knew if my career changed I that it would come with a lot of adjustments, and I would need help from others through this time of transition.
God has sent people in and out of our lives to be vessels for us during different stages of my life and these past few years. It’s not easy relocating to another state where you know no one and be able to get through without support. I believe I pictured this season of my life going a little differently. (smile)
I’ve tried to keep my daughter as stable as I could while going through this transition. There’s nothing I want more than to be a great mom and give my family the tools to be better than me. I know there’s a greater purpose for this season, and I also know there’s a reason why I’m being challenged to come out of my state of independence and be ok with asking for help.
I believe that through this season I’ll be pushed to be my very best self and the time will come that I’ll be in a position again to be independent and help others. With your support, you will be pouring into the lives of not just mine but so many other lives.
The funds will be used to purchase a reliable vehicle and pay up my auto insurance for one year. I assure you that your sacrifice will not be in vain and that every dollar will be accounted for as I will provide proof of purchase of both the vehicle and the insurance. (Upon request)
Thank you, in advance for your support and for pouring into the life of someone you may or may not know. Thank you, for having faith and believing in me. Also, I want you to know that it’s ok to be vulnerable and share your truth. God has a way of taking what seems to be a bad situation and use it for the good of his Kingdom. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t take this season back as I’ve learned so much through this time and I trust that God has a plan is already ahead of this.
I truly appreciate your time and consideration. I am truly grateful for your support.
Sincerely,
Kehana L. Wills
