Alex is my best friend & soulmate. We have been together since 2012 & finally got married Sept 12, 2024, in our neighbor & friend's living room.

Two weeks later, Alex went to the ER with severe abdominal pain & was given a preliminary diagnosis of liver cancer. A biopsy confirmed his diagnosis of Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma, liver duct cancer which has spread to his lungs. He has undergone some chemotherapy & immunotherapy. Our research led us to MD Anderson in Houston for the leading expert in this rare, aggressive cancer.

Understandably, between the constant & intense pain, crippling fatigue & nausea, Alex has been unable to work since October. We have applied for disability benefits, but this is still pending. This diagnosis has been especially hard to accept as he doesn't drink, smoke, has never been obese & doesn't even have a tattoo. He has been active, fit & healthy! He used to be an avid bike rider & would ride for miles & miles.

I work full-time & am also the primary caregiver to my elderly mother. I feel fortunate that we have insurance for Alex through my job, but regular household expenses, medications, special diet & medical bills are beginning to overwhelm us. We've had a lot of pride until now, but we need help. I know this is a difficult financial time for many. Anything helps. If you'd prefer to avoid fees, we also have Venmo & Zelle.
