Wednesday, April 1st, I lost a very dear friend. I've known him since elementary school. At about 2:30 a.m. an suv slammed into their trailer home killing him, his wife Brenda, and their unborn child on impact. The couple, of about a year, had been living in a shed adjacent to the mobile home for about a month so they could save money for their own place. Ivan was the oldest of his three brothers and two sisters. Brenda was 8 months pregnant and ready to give birth. Instead of planning their baby shower we are now planning their funneral. They passed in such a tragic way it's hard to believe they're gone.
