Weight loss surgery

Hi my name is Melissa,

I have been overweight since as long as I can remember. I have tried every diet plan, meal plan, exercise routine possibe; including walking, running, biking, hiking, circuit training, and everything in between. My weight has been a source of anxiety and depression for me since High School! I have two small children and want nothing more than to be healthy for them. I am tired of not having the energy to keep up or engage in activities that involve a lot of physical movement. I'm missing out on their best years, I want to be a mom who is involved in every aspect of their lives.

I am currently on a waitlist to have surgery locally however the waitlist could be another 5 years, by then my children will have outgrown the things I want to be able to do with them!

I have the opportunity to have the procedure at a private clinic but I would have to pay for it myself, it would take me years to save the amount I would need and by then I would be missing out the the best time of my children's lives.

Cost of the procedure is $5000US and the cost of flights can vary but I have seen anywhere up to $3500. So I am hoping to raise $8000 and I'll cover the rest myself.

I have done an immense amount of research on the risk and know what I am choosing to do, the risks outweigh the benefits for me!

I don't know if this fundraising will work but I'm hoping some good karma will come my way, and I would pay it forward in any way I can! Thank you for everyone who is supporting me in this journey and thank you for taking the time to read my story!
