It is with great pain and sorrow that I say our great warrior has passed. David Myers, the man who's been by her side, will be accepting these beautiful donations. Please keep him and her daughters in your thoughts and prayers.
My beautiful friend Cassie Painter is in an epic battle right now. After finding a lump after Thanksgiving 2018, she scheduled a doctor's appointment and was officially diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer... right after Christmas. Chemo started in late January 2019 and after completing 12 weeks, Cassie then had a double mastectomy that summer. Radiation finished off the journey, and doctors were confident they got it all.
Everything was great.
Cassie rang the bell.
And we all rejoiced.
This May 2020 Cassie began having symptoms of a sinus infection that wouldn't go away and were getting worse as the weeks went on. After doc appts and a couple trips to the ER, they finally did an MRI that revealed the cancer metastasized in her brain. It's been an up and down journey since then, and a couple weeks ago we learned it's also in her bones. We're still waiting on an official battle plan, but we've all gathered our armor in preparation for this fight
Cassie is a warrior, but we will not let her fight alone.
Her family needs us to lift them up, hold them to sun, and shoulder their burdens so they can focus on loving and healing.
She is determined to rise.
And we will rise up with her.
