Tiana’s Breast Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Tiana, or T as I call her, was 12 when she first learned of the devastation that cancer could bring to a life. Being her mothers caretaker added too quickly years to her young life. At 19, cancer would take her mother. As if that isn't tragic enough, cancer also took the life of her only sister just 3 short years later.
Tiana has strength that is only possible when someone has overcome such adversity in their life. She is going to need that strength for the next challenge she is facing. Her own cancer diagnosis.
Summer 2022, T noticed a lump on her breast. Thinking that 25 was too young for breast cancer to strike, she waited for a winter check up appointment to bring up to her doctor. An ultrasound led to an MRI which led to biopsies confirming the worst; Breast Cancer, in mid December 2022.
Since then she has met with Oncologists, Surgeons, Geneticists, Fertility Specialists, and more. Tiana hasn't been able to work much since the diagnosis and with the first of many surgeries scheduled in a few short weeks; will be out of work for some time to come. Along with juggling insurmountable medical bills to preserve her fertility.
Tiana has lost so much, yet worked so hard to be able to stand on her own, supporting herself. Please help Tiana to not lose any more than she has to - Brittany Owens, Cousin
