Why Trees?
By planting trees, we can grow the urban canopy in Long Beach to reduce greenhouse gases, provide oxygen and create shade for years to come. Planting trees is one of the most effective things we can do personally to improve the environment. This is true in the Amazon rainforest, and this is true in urban environments like Long Beach where all the asphalt, cement, bricks, and steel raise the temperature by as much as 10 degrees.
Isn't Climate Change Far into the Future? Why is Gen Z so concerned?
All of us are affected by climate change, but especially young people. Every baby you see rolling along in their stroller and every teen you see zipping past you on their skateboard will be profoundly affected by climate change. It used to seem far off.
