Jason White is 17 years and has Cystic Fibrosis. There is no cure. Jason's lungs were really bad and he was placed on the National Donor List. Tuesday March 31st a miracle happened. Jason got the call for lungs and was rushed to Boston's Children's Hospital where he underwent a double lung transplant. I am relieved to report that Jason's surgery was successful and he is recovering in ICU. This is just the start of a long road of lifelong immonusuppressive drugs that Jay will have to take. If you can for a minute imagine the costs associated to such a major surgery and all the prescriptions he will continue to have to take. Remember new lungs does not mean CF goes away.
