INTRODUCTION
Hello! My name is Jack Schudy, the writer/director for the upcoming film, "QLC." Today is a day I've been dreaming of since I first picked up a camera- the day I truly begin bringing my first feature film to life. I'm so excited about this project, and eager to share as much with you as possible. What follows is a brief breakdown of the story we want to tell, and the plan of attack for making it happen.
But first, a message from our producer...
"Hello! My name is Jack Vento. Today is a day I've also been dreaming of but only since a few months ago, when Jack asked if I’d like to come aboard and produce this project of his. I think this is all quite exciting! This is the first creative project I’ve been a part of since moving from Wisconsin; I'm looking forward to collaborating with all of you awesome people who'll become part of the team!"
THE STORY
After witnessing a harrowing murder, three strangers are forced to navigate a chaotic nocturnal odyssey before sunrise in order to clear their names.
Located neatly between Thriller and Dark Comedy, "QLC" is an intense story with twists, turns and constantly rising tension. It's frightening and funny, cruel and hopeful.
While the core conflict of "QLC" focuses on matching our heroes up against insurmountable odds, the underlying thematic elements are much more personal. "QLC" serves as an analysis of boyhood, a celebration of friendship and an honest look into the tolls taken in the pursuit of dreams.
THE SCHEDULE
Currently our calendar has us in preproduction from January 1st until March. We'll be shooting the entirety of the film between March and May, with a summer spent in post production and a premiere in early Fall:
-Preproduction (January-March)
- January marks the beginning of casting calls and fundraising, laying the groundwork.
- February sees the culmination of casting and finalization of preproduction details.
- March sets the stage for a smooth transition into production.
-Production (March-May)
- Spring kicks off the cameras, officially bringing us into the heart of the "QLC" process.
- The spring months will be dedicated to focused filming sessions, with the goal of wrapping up principal photography by the onset of summer.
-Postproduction (Summer ‘24)
- June and July see the focus shift to the post work, including editing, sound design, and visual effects.
-Premiere (Fall ‘24)
- The fall season sets the stage for the release of our feature. We are currently aiming for a late summer, early fall release.
THE TEAM
Our crew will be relatively small, due to the nature of shooting a no-to-low budget feature. However, we're confident that our public crew calls will help us find the most talented and capable individuals available! If you are (or know someone) interested in crewing up with us for this project, use this form to apply:
THE BUDGET
We need your help (and the help of anyone looking to support independent filmmaking) to make "QLC" a reality, and to ensure that it's the strongest version of itself that it can be.
Our fundraising target for "QLC" is $5,000, earmarked for critical aspects of our production. This includes acquiring high-quality camera, lighting, and sound equipment to ensure a visually stunning and sonically clear movie experience. Additionally, a portion of the budget will be dedicated to securing two or three key locations pivotal to the film's narrative.
Any amount will help make this project a reality- but we know that times are tough. If you're unable to donate to the project at this time, there are still plenty of ways to help make "QLC" a reality. The simplest is to just help us spread this fundraiser around! Your support, whether through generous donations or spreading the word, is integral in achieving our goal and bringing this story to life.

AND FINALLY...
Thank you so much for reading!
We're all so excited to begin this journey and share more with you. If you're able to, every donation will help us turn this film into a reality. However, if you aren't currently able to donate, we understand! Helping our fundraiser reach more individuals who want to support independent filmmakers is just as considerate. We thank you for taking the time out of your day to hear about our little project, and hope to update you soon on our progress. Welcome to the "QLC" family!
