Be The Light.....

Hi, my name is Sonya Turner and Matt and I grew up together.

Matt passed away on June 2nd, 2023. Our world is a little darker today without him in it. The news spread like wildfire and the comments and memories being shared prove there is no question about what impact he made on this world. As always life took us in different directions. I am so glad over the last 5+ years we had grown very close. Anyone knew they could always count on Matt if they asked for help or not, he was an angel on earth! If you knew Matt you knew a few things without questions. 1. How much he loved God 2. How much he loved his family and Jess 3. How much he loved YOU, deserving or not.

Most recently after my wreck last year out of the blue Matt called knowing insurance wasn't paying for a rental anymore and we were heavily burdened with medical bills. He loaned me his car, no questions asked and nothing asked in return, until we could find a new one. This was one of his messages to me when I was at a very low point.

"I want you to understand you are a child of the light Sonya, I know you know that. Anywhere light goes, it exposes darkness, even when it doesn't necessarily mean to. Then darkness retaliates, when that happens then The Lord will fight your battle."

He was without question the hands and feet of Jesus.

We can only imagine how hard this is on his family. Several of his classmates from WBHS c/o 1997 want to honor him by making sure these future days ahead are as easy as possible on "his bride", Jessica. We feel strongly that is what Matt would have wanted, was her taken care of.

Together with other classmates, Farredeh Pippin and I are starting this Go Fund Me because grieving his loss is too hard and we need to step out in faith and see what God will do with it.

Here are Farredeh's words about Matt that she wanted to share:
"My heart is so heavy to hear of Matt Reynolds passing. If you knew him, you LOVED HIM! He was KIND, humble, hard-working, ALWAYS thinking of others and he loved the Lord. We’ve been friends since high school & he’s someone that EVERYONE loved. It didn’t matter if you’ve known him for 20 minutes or 20 years.

He started his own private transportation company, Reynolds Rides. If you needed a dependable, safe ride you called Matt. Day or night, he’d pick you up and you never had to worry if he was gonna show up, be late, etc. In fact for Spring Break, he picked me & Braylon up at 3amto take us to the airport. I’ll never forget 1 ride to the airport in February….he asked about my trip. I told him I was starting a new role @ my company & traveling to Nashville for a work event. He wanted to know all about my new role & asked, “how can I help your business?” He then proceeded to brainstorm with me & give me names of people he knew & asked if they might be a good contact for me.
He was going through his own hardships, but yet he wanted to HELP ME!
Not many people today care about helping others like Matt did. He’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was an angel on Earth…the biggest teddy bear of a man. He will surely be missed.
Please keep his wife (Jess) @Jessica Reynolds in your prayers. ♥️"

Please if you can donate anything to help us take care of those he loved so dearly it will be greatly appreciated or just leave a beautiful memory of Matt for us to reflect on
