Max's Recovery Fund

An update from the family: 

We’d like to start with a giant thank you for the overwhelming amount of love and support. It is amazing, but not at all surprising, how many people in the world share our deep love for Max. We didn’t want to update until we had some good news to share so apologies for the wait, though it has been worth it. Our prayers have been answered: Max has begun the early stages of waking from his coma. 

Over the past five weeks he has faced multiple setbacks including pneumonia, blood clots, and infection. But Max has continued to overcome these obstacles. He is currently off of all sedation and has started working with occupational and physical therapists to begin moving again. As Max likes to say it has truly been a “slow wide turn” towards recovery… We love you guys so much and will forever be grateful! 

Max, Shirlie and Rio still have a long road ahead of them. This GoFundMe will help with medical bills, ongoing care, and to support the family during this incredibly difficult time. Anything you can give — big or small — would mean the world. Sharing this helps as well!
