Support Lindsey's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
My daughter Lindsey is, and has always been, the type of person who puts others first. She is always there to provide help, often before it is even asked for. She is an auntie, a sister, a devoted dog mom, and loving partner to her boyfriend Ryan. Her passion is teaching, and she worked very hard to become a licensed special education teacher. As a new high school special education teacher, Lindsey is extremely focused on helping her students thrive. She is loving, strong, and very independent. While she is always there for others, she does not like asking for help from anyone. But now, Lindsey needs our help.

On Christmas day, Lindsey joined the rest of the family and her and I talked about how she hadn’t been feeling well lately. Two days later she found herself in the hospital and was ultimately diagnosed with Leukemia. She was immediately transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital, a top cancer hospital, and after a period of testing to identify the specific type of Leukemia, the cancer has been getting treated aggressively with multiple rounds of chemotherapy and other forms of care. She was released one month after getting to Mass. General, but will have more in patient and out-patient treatments over the next 14-24 months. She has so many plans & dreams for her future ahead. Unfortunately, with this diagnosis, her world was turned upside down and those dreams have been put on hold while she, along with some of the top medical professionals in the country, attacks the hardest challenge of her life.

I have organized this campaign and am asking for help because Lindsey is looking at an extended care program of mixed in- and out-patient treatments. As a result, she has had to step away from the job she loves to focus on her care. This diagnosis comes with overwhelming financial burdens including medical treatments, hospital stays, co-pays and specialized care. Lindsey has said “With the love and support of my amazing family, friends, and community, I’m determined to fight this battle with everything I have.” Our family is doing everything we can to support her, but we simply cannot do it all alone. Lindsey should be focusing on rest & healing, not stressing over how to pay bills.

Anyone who knows me knows I do not like asking for help, but in this case, I am not asking for myself but rather asking for my daughter. Lindsey would be the first one to offer help to anyone who needs it and I am asking you to do the same for her!

Your generous contributions will help ease the financial strain on Lindsey by covering:

• Medical costs & copays that are outside of insurance's benefits
• Travel costs for future treatments
• Living expenses while Lindsey focuses on healing
• Supportive care to help her recover physically and emotionally

Lindsey will need all the help she can get over the next few months and years. Our family has already been working hard to help this amazing young lady and we truly appreciate any help we can get. Every donation will make a difference, no amount is too small. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign means the world to Lindsey and helps spread the word. Your kindness, positive thoughts, and support during this challenging time mean more than words can express.

Whether a donation, a share, or a positive thought, Lindsey and our entire family thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
