CLONMEL RFC - C19 Club Appeal

Hi Everyone,
We hope you are keeping well during these strange and uncertain times due to the Covid19 pandemic. The health and wellbeing of everyone is of the utmost importance. The 2019/2020 season was a very important one in Clonmel RFC’s 139 years of existence, as it was our first time ever competing as a Senior club in the All Ireland League. Unfortunately like many other events in our lives this year our season was cut short abruptly with the onset of the global pandemic.
As well as the success on the field of our senior team, Clonmel RFC takes particular pride in our juvenile setup given the important benefits that sport can have on young people’s mental and physical health. Clonmel RFC has a juvenile liaison officer that works closely with both primary and secondary schools in the locality, promoting sport and wellbeing. As an important part of the community Clonmel RFC also works closely with the local Autism Society giving free access to facilities for activities and events. Clonmel RFC has strong links with South Tipperary Hospice, Saint Vincent De Paul and also has a very active men’s choir.
Unfortunately, with the season having been cut short we have lost our major fundraising opportunities for ongoing maintenance of our facilities, pitches and other various works that are necessary. Our funding avenues through match day gate receipts and various planned events which we heavily rely upon have been cancelled, in conjunction with donations and local business sponsorship being hugely affected. We now need your help and we have taken the initiative to set up a GoFundMe web page. We are reaching out to you our fellow Clonmel community and Clonmel RFC supporters both near and further afield to kindly ask you for your help with a donation if possible. These monies will be used to support the activities of all playing grades in the club, to keep on top of our maintenance costs and reduce debt entering the upcoming season. We understand in these times that not everyone might be in a position to help us financially but if you can contribute, we would really appreciate it. We are also always on the lookout for volunteers and if you are in the position to do so please reach out and contact us.
