Help Shannon Fight Stage 4 Cancer

Hi all,

My name is Shannon. I’m a single mom of a six-year-old boy that lives in Dallas, Texas. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer metastasis to 75% of my liver on June 30, 2022. The cancer was then inoperable.

I had four separate weeks hospital stays and started aggressive chemo on July 8th, which continues every two weeks. I travel back and forth for my treatments at MD Anderson in Houston.

In the July 2022, I exhausted over $7100 in insurance out-of-pocket expenses and have many financial burdens fall in my lap from the cancer diagnosis, plus more to come. 

I was Care Flighted to MD Anderson and had major emergency colon cancer surgery due to an obstruction on Tuesday, 12/20/2022 (Bren, my son’s bday). They removed a foot of colon and the tumor was the size of a grapefruit. A sample during surgery found cancer has metastasized to my stomach lining in addition to my liver.

I will now have to pay $8,150 in January 2023.

In April 2023, CT results showed the cancer spread to the abdomen, pelvis, lymph nodes and lung. I’m now incurable and inoperable.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I will be forever grateful for your support and encouragement during this time.
