As some of you know, my Dad Pat has been very ill due to a massive tumor on his head. My step mom, Berit, who is also battling stage four breast cancer has been taking care of him. They recently came up to Texas from San Miguel to seek medical treatment for my Dad.  He was at the VA hospital in San Antonio for about a week but was discharged because he needs to get healthier for his surgery to remove the tumor. Although he is slowly getting stronger and gaining weight it still may be awhile until he is ready for surgery. They have been staying with my family out in Dripping Springs to be close to the VA hospital and so we can all help. Luckily they are both covered for when they need treatment however they are both no longer working due to their illness and living off a very fixed income. We are asking for any help for medical supplies, food, or gas to get to hospital visits.  We also need any friends who would be willing to help sit with my Dad during the day when Berit goes back to San Miguel to get her chemo treatments. Berit and Pat are two of the most loving and generous people I know and would greatly appreciate any help during this difficult time. We know this is a hard time to ask for help during Christmas, but any little bit helps. Even if you can't help, please keep praying and sending positive vibes their way. Thank you so much.
