Michael & Melisa Yoder

On June 11,2020 my niece Melisa Yoder was admitted to a small hospital in Montana, extremely sick with meningitis. After an initial improvement, she didn’t respond to treatment, and nearly died. June 14 she was airlifted to Salt Lake City University Hospital, a seven hour drive from their Gold Creek home. After hundreds of tests, doctors diagnosed her with Acute Flaccid Myelitis, a rare but serious neurological condition that affects the nervous system, causing paralysis. She was on the ventilator for a few weeks, and thankfully is only on supplemental oxygen now. We praise God for sparing her life; and also that Michael may be with her.
Melisa is 30; she and Michael have two young children: Maacah, 3, and Brogan, 19 months. It is not easy for them and their extended family but God has provided a little home in Utah. My cousin Megan lives nearby, and those who care for the children and support Michael stay in their guesthouse.
Doctors are cautiously optimistic that with prayers, Divine healing, strong determination, and extensive therapy Melisa will recover and regain use of her limbs. Physical therapy will be ongoing.
This fund was started by Michael and Melisa’s family to help with medical and rehabilitation expenses.
If God moves you to help, know that each donation is greatly appreciated. We pray He will bless you. Thank you especially for joining us in prayer for this small family  on this difficult journey.
