Terry's Cancer Cure - My Dads Fight

Donation protected
I’m not exactly sure how I’m supposed to write this. Honestly, I’ve sat night after night after night typing and deleting time and time again, until I came to the realization that there is no correct way.

Whenever any person has to tell the story of their mentor, their superman, their magician, their dad…there is no template. There is no easy way to express the feeling coursing through my veins right now…but here I go…

My dad is my superman. There has never been a thing in the world to deter this man from moving forward. He taught himself to read, write, walk, and talk after being declared a vegetable for the rest of his life from a severe head injury when I was two. He came out of a coma after doctors gave him too much medicine to awake from anesthesia when he went for a simple procedure to get his tonsils out. He fought back to start yet another company after business partners took advantage of his kindness and sent him back to square one.

But this isn’t a story about hardships and triumphs. This is a story about my dad…

A man who coached my little league baseball team, who sold his motorcycle to have enough money to build me a fort in my back yard, a man who would give an arm and a leg and everything in between to make sure my family has everything we have every needed and wanted.

Some of you may know my dad, some of you may not. Those that do, know my dad walks thorough his day, every single day, with a smile on his face trying to brighten someone else’s day. He makes people laugh when they are sad, he gives people opportunities when no one else will, and he has always been there to say…I’m proud of you son…words every son longs to hear….

In March my father was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer where surgery was immediately done to remove the tumor. The cancer has since progressed to Stage IV and spread to his liver. He is undergoing an intense chemotherapy treatment now along with holistic practices such as acupuncture, chiropractic care, yoga, and mediation. My dad has chosen to fight this terrible disease through a very integrated approach of both medicine and natural cleansing. However being self-employed, as we are, a majority of this is not covered by our insurance.

It is incredible how it is the year 2015, where we are able to talk to someone around the world by the push of a button, and have cars that can drive themselves across the country, yet we still have not found a cure to this terrible disease that effects so many. It's difficult for a man to swallow his pride and ask for help, but I am asking for yours now. I am doing this fundraiser in hopes to not only give a helping hand to my father, who has given me everything he has and more, but to also raise awareness to everyone. Getting checked regularly and speaking up when something isn’t right is more important than you think.

Thank you everyone.

Much Love,

Ben
