Donate to help Desiree

She is Desiree and this is her story: In May 2018 Desiree underwent surgery for appendicitis due to peritonitis, they had to do two surgeries and left her abdomen open, during the first surgery she suffered two cardiorespiratory spasms which caused her to be in a coma for 8 days . Due to the first Surgery, two abdominal hernias emerged which were so large that it seemed that she was pregnant. In 2021, she was admitted to the emergency hospital because one of the hernias was causing serious problems since she was strangled. At that time, they did not put her in the operating room due to suspicions of stomach or colon cancer. After several tests and a colonoscopy and endoscopy, it was confirmed that it was not cancer. She received 21 blood transfusions over the next two and a half months as she suffered from severe anemia and could not undergo surgery at the time. Until the anemia improved a bit, they operated on her the following week because she had been vomiting for a whole week and unable to keep anything down in her stomach. They admitted her to the hospital and she still had to wait 3 more days to be operated on, by then her abdomen was completely red, a sign that there was an infection. She goes into surgery on a Saturday and it goes well, after two days her skin begins to become necrotic and they decide to re-operate, they had to cut necrotized skin and during this process the surgeons are unable to close her abdomen, they put her in the operating room every two days to gradually close the abdomen, in the second intervention they discovered a microperforation of the ileum and she left the operating room with an ileostomy on the right side of her abdomen, two days after that intervention she was surgically intervened again for the third time and when Her blood pressure is very low and her heartbeat is equally low and they decide to admit her to intensive care for the second time. Then the hospital in question makes the decision to send her to another hospital because they did not believe they were capable of treating her and send her to more qualified specialists. At this time the worst was feared.

Desiree was admitted to the new hospital at night after the third intervention directly into intensive care and was there until completing two more surgeries until she was able to completely close her abdomen. I spend 14 days with my abdomen open and fully awake. At that time, she did not think that the bag that was attached to her abdomen would remain with her for 8 months. It was a very hard blow, but God gave her the strength to continue her life normally. The day arrives to remove the ileostomy, he enters the hospital and everything goes well. Desiree returned home after a week of being hospitalized and the next day several stitches opened and a lot of blood came out. She went every day to be treated and fluid was removed from the wound because they did not put a drain at any time or before or after surgery. One day when he arrives for a check-up, they do an ultrasound and she has abdominal fluid, more than 500 cc in multiple areas of the abdomen and they decide to re-operate again, he leaves the operating room well, thanks again to our savior. I've been doing well for a few months. Some time later, balls began to sprout on the skin of the abdomen area and every time one exploded, putrefied material came out. She went to the hospital many times and they only told her that it was normal, because she had had so many surgeries that the skin on her abdomen was loose and very thin. A few weeks later, he began to urinate the same material that came out of his wounds, and he was diagnosed with a urinary infection. He decided to go to a private doctor who was able to find what he really had after many studies, exams and evaluations and decided to undergo surgery on January 10, 2023. The doctor sent by God against all bad prognosis that he had for his life does his homework perfectly and discovers that: She had multiple fistulas that connected to the bladder and the anus. In addition, he discovers and removes the appendix, which they had supposedly removed in 2018 and also finds her intestines wrapped in surgical material that he was able to untangle and managed to remove half of the intestine that was not functional and also removes other organs such as the womb and ovaries, corrects her fistulas, it removes the Bacteria that was hurting him and did not let him be well. For all that work he did with the bladder fistulas and the other one in the back, he made the decision to have a colostomy to save his life since he did not want this to happen again. Now, after all this that she has experienced in these years, we come before our friends, family and all the people who are willing to help Desiree to be able to collect money so that they can close her colostomy this month, on March 30, 2023. Thank you and God bless you!
