On December 14th, 2024, Robbie began experiencing knee pain and feeling unwell. What we initially thought was a simple sprained knee paired with flu symptoms turned out to be far more serious. Robbie was diagnosed with a severe septic bacterial infection that had spread to his bone.

By December 22nd, Robbie’s condition worsened, and he was rushed to the ER. He has been hospitalized ever since, enduring a grueling series of six surgeries so far, with more still ahead. The infection has proven aggressive, spreading to his blood and impacting critical areas of his body, including his heart, lungs, brain, pelvis, and other vital systems.

Despite these challenges, Robbie remains in remarkably good spirits and is fighting hard every day. However, his road to recovery will be long and filled with uncertainties.

While insurance will cover the majority of medical expenses, there is still an estimated a lot in costs left for us to shoulder. These include expenses for hospital transport, ongoing hospitalization, and the numerous surgeries needed to combat this invasive infection.
