Brenda's Battle

Hi, my name is Bobbi Wanamaker. I am here to try and help a member of our Golf Club family that has recently been given the most difficult news one could receive.

Brenda Breen has been a part of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club family for almost ten years. Those who have had the pleasure of interacting with Brenda know her kind and sweet demeanor begins when she greets you. Brenda is one of the most caring and thoughtful members of our Golf Club family. She is always smiling and putting others before herself.

After four years of living in pain and with many misdiagnoses, our bright and always smiling Brenda has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Uterine Cancer.

Brenda is a single 58-year-old mother of two. Her daughter, Jemma, is 25 and son, Mateo, is 20. As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for their family.

Brenda, in the last few years has become quite spiritual. Despite the current challenges, Brenda is continuing to stay positive and rely on her faith. With the love and support of her children, church, and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club family, Brenda continues to stay optimistic.

As most people know, Stage 4 Uterine Cancer treatment is very aggressive. Brenda is currently undergoing chemotherapy once every three weeks to try and shrink a currently inoperable tumor. There are many different medications that Brenda is required to take that unfortunately are not covered by OHIP.

This Go Fund Me page has a goal of reaching $20,000. This amount was chosen to assist with medical treatments which are not covered by OHIP and to support the family. Any support you can offer Brenda and her family is so greatly appreciated! Brenda would love to hear any words of encouragement to help her stay positive as she focuses on healing.
