Hi, my name is Ashlynn and I am trying to help our little family of four girls. My mom’s name is Jodi. I love my mom so much, she’s the strongest woman I’ve ever seen. My mom has two Autistic children and a 2 yr old Autistic granddaughter that she’s raising. My heart is breaking for my mother. She is chronically/terminally ill and is bedbound 80% of the time. Here’s the soul crushing part.  My stepfather, her husband, decided he didn’t want to deal with Autism or my mom‘s chronic health problems anymore so he just abandoned our family…. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. No warning no way to prepare. He didn’t say goodbye to anyone but especially sickening was the fact that he didn’t say goodbye to his OWN DAUGHTER. My 14 yr old sister is depressed, won’t eat and we are fearful for her mentally. Like I said, my mother is very sick but she makes sure that everyone gets to their therapies and appointments which are five days a week, sometimes two or three appointments a day. Since there is no one that is able to drive in the household we have had to rely on Uber for everything. We visit the pharmacy at least twice a week for all of the members of my family. We have various genetic illnesses. We have spent $200 in just the past week on Uber. Most importantly is that my mom now has no caretaker. We are going to have to somehow hire a caretaker for her. The only income we have is a once a month payment that my mother gets. We moved from California to Minnesota just a few years ago,  right before Covid. The reason we moved was so that my mom could be seen at the Mayo. Because of this we do not know ONE PERSON in this state. No family or friends. No support. 

Finally and so importantly, Mom needs at least 2 weeks of treatment at the Mayo Clinic but even that seems almost impossible now. We will need to hire medical transport, kind of like an ambulance, to transport her to the Mayo because she is too sick to ride upright for the whole distance to the clinic. Also we will have to pay for hotel rooms, food etc. for the whole time there. She NEEDS to have a fighting chance for our family. My mom has always been hard-working and I hate to see her struggling because I know she feels so helpless. 

My mother would NEVER ask anyone for help like this on her own so I set this up to try to get any assistance possible.  If anyone can help I will be so very appreciative. Thank you so much.
