Dear family & friends,

Tiffanie received the long-awaited phone call for her miracle on Saturday, May 6th. After making her way to Houston that same night, she underwent a 6-hour, double lung transplant surgery on Monday May 8th. Tiffanie remained in a medically induced coma until Friday, May 12th. At present, she is off the ventilator, on high flow oxygen and has taken 6 steps with therapy. Praise God!

Tiffanie has lived with a progressive autoimmune disease for many years, eventually requiring full-time supplemental oxygen for the past 3 years. In 2021 Tiffanie was added to a long list of folks in need of a lung(s) transplant and was given a 2-3% chance of finding a match due to high antibodies. Given her odds, and the complicated, tedious process of organ donation in general, we consider this match and subsequent surgery a true miracle.

Waiting on a transplant list is not for the faint of heart; however, Tiffanie is an incredibly strong woman. Through the ups and downs, she has handled this journey with grace, hope, determination and optimism. As her disease progressed over the years and her health declined, she remained faithful, asking only for God to give her more time with her children on this side of heaven. She is a loving, devoted and exceptional single mother to twin daughters, Jordan and Reese, who are 9 years old.

After a double lung transplant, the average recovery time is 3-6 months. During this time, Tiffanie will remain in Houston at the hospital and rehab facility. Her ever-faithful mom has arranged to stay in Houston, providing practical assistance and moral support. Jordan and Reese will remain at home in Mansfield (a suburb outside of Dallas) but will make frequent trips to visit.
