Surgery for Xena (MSU campus cat)
Donation protected
If you live near MSU campus, you’ve probably met or see a cute black tail-less cat bobbing around the neighborhood. She’s quick to comfort and always provides comic relief.
On Sunday our sweet Xena got rolled by a car. She initially ran towards her mom (Kate) but then ran off and was in hiding for the several days. Today (Thursday) we found her in critical condition hiding under a nearby structure. The vet discovered through X-rays that her diaphragm was ripped by the impact and her stomach is now in her lung making breathing very difficult.
Without surgery in the next day or so she will most likely not make it.
The surgery to patch or rebuild her diagram will likely cost around $4,000-5000 plus meds and care. As many of us know, our pets can be like kids to us and Xena is very much that to Kate. If you could support at all, it would be so appreciated and we will continue to update as we know more. Once Xena is healthy again, she promised to make all her supporters very delicious cookies to say thank you for saving her life. ♥️
