Help Qi's Family
Donation protected
On behalf of Qi's friends, we have created this page for his family during this difficult time.
Qi, a computer science graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, was interning in Seattle for the summer. He went mountaineering with other interns on Sunday, June 5th, when he glissaded (a climbing technique using ice axe) down the mountain and fell into a waterfall hole covered with snow and ice. The Search and Rescue team made immediate missions inside and around the waterfall but was not able to locate Qi. There will be ongoing efforts to find him over the next few weeks.
Qi is a kind, care-free, and adventurous soul who loved the outdoors. Even in amidst this horrific accident, Qi was doing what he loved the most. At this moment, his family is going through an incredibly hard time and is very appreciative of all the support his friends have shown. Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help Qi's family - here are two ways:
1. Tag a picture of you and Qi on Facebook, and share a memory you have with him, no matter how insignificant or goofy you think it is.
2. Donate through this page. There is no minimum donation and any amount is appreciated. All proceeds will go to Qi's parents, who will decide how the funds will be used in his name.
