My name is Emily O’Donnell.
I am 21 years old. I have chronic neurologic Lyme disease, and I need your help.
As many of you know, I have been battling Lyme disease since 8th grade. Although I have had some temporary improvements to my health at different points during the last 8 years, no treatments have been able to successfully rid me of the effects of this disease.
Prior to being infected with Lyme, I was a healthy, athletic, honors student who loved learning, playing sports, dancing, and playing the fiddle. I have gotten progressively sicker each year, and at times am barely able to perform daily life functions. Although I don’t look sick on the outside and try to keep a positive attitude, I am at the point of not being able to attend college any longer because of the significant physical and cognitive issues caused by this disease. I have also not been able live the life of a normal, healthy 21-year old.
After extensive research and speaking with a family who found success for their daughter, I applied, and have been accepted to an intensive 3-week treatment program at Klinik St. Georg in Bad Aibling, Germany.
This treatment is one of my last hopes to living a normal, productive life again. The cost is $35,000 and none of it is covered by health insurance. Since I am not well enough to work, I have created this fundraiser to help pay for my treatment.
I welcome any help you can provide. All funds will be used to pay for my treatment and travel expenses. If you prefer to make a donation directly to me, please send it to:

Every contribution, regardless of the amount, is a step towards helping me get my life back! I hope to someday finish my degree in molecular and cellular biology and help find a cure for Lyme disease to help others like me.
Here are some links about the clinic and stories from people who have gone through the treatment.
