Hi, my name is Vivian, a 21-year-old trans woman living in Vermont. I’m making this page to help gain some support for my upcoming gender reassignment surgery (GRS) due to the procedure being extremely expensive, and my insurance only covering a portion of the cost. This surgery is a huge step for me. It is not just medical; it is emotional and deeply personal. It is about finally being able to feel safe and at home in my own body.

I have been trying to save up and work as much as I can, but with rising costs of living, it is difficult for me to save money towards surgery. I am also currently insured under federal insurance, and due to current federal policy, I am at risk of losing coverage for this procedure. This further complicates my plans, as I likely only have until the end of 2025 to make this happen if I want any assistance from insurance.
