Dreamer, my 9mo old Chinese Crested Powder Puff on Thursday October 19 was hit by a car. He got out of the house when my granddaughter (2 yrs old, he is her buddy and she enjoys trying to help me take care of him) opened the door to let him go out to go potty with our other dog. Problem was that I can currently only let them out one at a time as they have to be tethered. We just a month ago moved into a new place and haven't been able to put up a fence yet.
Dreamer is basically a miracle at this point because he suffered no broken bones. But he is suffering from internal injuries. The impact caused bleeding in his lungs. So he has an increaseed resperation rate at this point. He has started coughing which I think a little is ok to clear his lungs but to much could cause him to choke if a larger blood clot should break loose. He also has some sort of pain in his side that he reacts to when he's up and moving around. When he came home from the vets after an overnight stay his RBC was low and so was his RBC concentration. I've spent almost $600 on his initial vet visit and have nothing to take him in for a recheck.
I would surely appreciate any help that anyone could give me. I need to get him back into the vet which will be a bare minimum of $100. I'm asking for just a little over what I believe the vet bills will be to help pay for a fence so that this doesn't happen again.
Thank you in advance for any support.
