Hi everyone, my name is Lori and I am setting up this page my dear friend, MARY TROUT-FENNELL. As many of you know she was diagnosed with breast cancer in December of 2021.

Mary has been an R.N. at Westmoreland Manor for the past 8 years. She has been off work since February of 2022, when she started chemotherapy. She is a wonder caring nurse that goes above and beyond for her residents. Mary always takes her time with the residents, making them her top priority. Many times I saw Mary purchase clothes, personal items and snacks with her own money for the residents, treating them like family. She is a nurse that will work right along her staff, nothing is beneath her, making the work environment a bit easier for everyone.

We had a spaghetti dinner for her on March 26, 2022 with an overwhelming response from her friends, co-workers and family. This event helped her with food, bills, gas money to treatments and appointments, to purchase miscellaneous items (wigs, hats and bandanas), insurance and missed days at work.

Mary went through chemotherapy for 6 months, getter the strongest medicine to fight this disease. Soon after she had a double mastectomy with a dissection of the axillary on August 19, 2022. The results were not what we wanted to hear, out of 11 lymph nodes, the cancer was in 6. Thank God it wasn't in any of her vital organs. With that said, she needs more treatment. She will be starting radiation in the next few weeks. Radiation will be 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Anyone that has been keeping up with Mary's battle, knows nothing has gone as planned because of complications.
