Phillip Wong, resident of Wellesley, MA died on October 24, 2018 after a fifteen-month battle with non-small cell lung cancer. He was 45 years old. He left behind his wife Yin Yu-Wong and his two children Evelyn and Winston. Phillip was born in China and grew up in Hong Kong, China before immigrating to the United States. He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art with a degree in industrial design. He worked proudly as a letter carrier serving his community faithfully.
This Go Fund Me page is being set-up to help support the Wong family in Philip's absence and take a little pressure off of Yin by providing funds to off-set her hours lost at work. She is currently working part time in order to take her children to school and be there for them after school. They had to dip into their savings to pay for many of Philip's medical needs and now without working full time the sense of security is ever present.
Yin said "Losing Phillip is a huge fear for me, there were times, I worried and wondered how am I going to be able to make it ? How am I going to be able to raise my children all by myself? But, I know I am not alone because we live in a very caring and supportive community and we are surrounded by very sophisticated people who are willing to lend a hand to anybody who is in need of help. I need the village (the whole community) to help raise my children because I know I won’t be able to do it all by myself, so any support and help are greatly appreciated. "
Phillip will be remembered as a pure-hearted family man who was always willing to put others before himself. He was humble and quiet but also loved to laugh and tell jokes to get others to smile.
Please contribute to Yin's Hopes, Dreams and Wishes for Evelyn and Winston's future by helping to provide stability for them now.
