The Livermore Police Department, The Livermore Police Officer’s Association, and The Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department are asking for the communities assistance. On Christmas afternoon, LPD Officers and LPFD firefighters responded to a local hotel in response to a non-responsive 39 year old female. The 39 year old female was suffering a medical emergency related to a pre-existing condition. The 39 year old female was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment where she ultimately succumbed to her pre-existing medical condition.
The 39 year old female recently relocated to California from Florida with her 6 year old daughter Karma. Karma was temporarily placed with a foster family until her grandmother could respond to California from Florida. During this time, LPD Officers and LPFD Firefighters learned the Karma was unable to celebrate Christmas at all due to her mother’s medical condition beginning in the early morning hours of Christmas morning.
As a result of this discovery, LPD Personnel and LPFD Personnel went to work and purchased Christmas gifts for Karma so she could experience Christmas on this tragic day. On December 26, 2015, LPD Personnel along with LPFD Personnel delivered the Christmas gifts to Karma.
This incident touched the heart’s of LPD Personnel and LPFD Personnel. To assist Karma and her family, LPD and LPFD started a “GoFundMe” account to raise money for funeral expenses and transportation expenses to get Karma’s mother back to Florida.
