We're raising funds for our classmate Jerry Rabus, his wife Janice, and their grandson, who recently suffered catastrophic storm damage to their home and surrounding property in Boone NC, due to Hurricane Helene (see photo).

To date, local, state and federal government agencies have not responded to Jerry and Janice's needs, and their homeowners insurance company has been no help either. Due to the damage, they were forced to live in various expensive hotels for 4 nights. After purchasing a generator (another big expense), they were able to move back into their home.

Thankfully, Jerry and Janice had some money tucked away, but it's going fast, and, unfortunately, the bills for repair and reconstruction keep piling up. And while they're hoping that insurance and government assistance will eventually cover some of their costs, there will be huge out-of-pocket expenses for deductibles, as well as extra costs that simply will not be covered by either source.

As friends of Jerry and Janice, we're asking you to help offset their expenses due to, what we pray, is a once-in-a-lifetime catastrophe. May God bless Jerry, Janice and their grandson, as well as anyone involved in helping in their recovery.
