Hello, my name is Allen MacNeill. Last November I had a bad fall that caused a concussion and a brain bleed (subdural hematoma) that put me in the ICU at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. This injury not only caused some lingering side effects (short-term memory problems, confusion, and some dizziness), it has also severely impacted my finances. Although insurance and Medicare paid for some of the cost of my treatment (including follow-up CT scans and EEGs), I am still in debt for almost $9,000. I have not been able to pay off any of this debt, as I am semi-retired and living on my pension, Social Security, and a small part-time job teaching at Binghamton University.
