Service Dog for Jake
Donation protected
I'm writing this with tears of joy and sadness, we were told that it would take up to two years to potentially get Jake a service animal for his type 1 diabetes. Unfortunately a kiddo backed out of the program and that left the next slot for Jake. With it coming up quicker than we anticipated we haven't saved what we needed for the service animal. I know that for each family money is always hard it's not something that you want to talk about but neither is having your child diagnosed at 9 years old that they're a type 1 diabetic. I applied for this service animal for Jake with the idea that I could give him back some of the childhood that he's missing out on and give me and my son a chance to get back the relationship that we had before where I didn't have to repeatedly have to ask "what is your blood sugar" or make him more responsible at age where he should just be able to have fun while learning responsibility and not have to miss out on certain school activities because he has to keep checking in with the nurses, the list of reasoning just goes on and on. If you are able to donate, you know just how much this means to my family or even if you aren't if you could please just share this that means more than you know thank you.
