In March of this year, a trip to the Gambia led us to a local orphanage in Mandi Narine.
This orphanage currently provides care of children from as young as 4 months old up until 10 years.
The children utilise the orphanege as their home, their school, their place of worship but most importanlty their foundations of their family and community that they have created themselves.
The orphanege was founded through a charitable donation made by the Manneh Kunda family whereby they gave a 20 x 20 piece of their land.
But unfortunately the orphanege has not been completely built and only has enclosures with no water tight roof.
The children also do not have their own access to water and have to depend on a nearby well belonging to another.
We need to raise £10,000 to provide the children with the bare necessities others take for granted of food and shelter.
The target of £10,000 would allows us to complete the build of the orphanege whereby suitable accommodation can be completed with a proper roof, walls and floors.
The target will also allow us to provide the children with their own well for safe, clean water.
Our initial goal is to ensure we can give the children adequate food and shelter resources, however creating a long lasting relationship with the orphanage where we can support in any way would be our ultimate aim.
Therefore we would like to thank you in advance in supporting such a worthy cause close to our hearts.
