If you know Daniel, you know his gentleness, strength, and kindness that makes everyone around him feel at ease. He has faced more than fifteen years of illness with grace and determination, never once losing his warmth or hope. Now, he urgently needs our help to keep fighting.

Our dear friend Daniel, 39, is facing an extremely aggressive relapse of a rare blood cancer : therapy-related myelodysplastic syndrome / acute myeloid Leukemia.

After this devastating relapse, we are raising funds so Daniel can begin private treatment in Germany. The hospital requires a €150,000 deposit before treatment can start.

Daniel has spent more than fifteen years fighting cancer with a beautiful quiet strength and unwavering hope. First diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in his twenties, he has endured years of treatments and hospital stays but has never stopped believing in recovery, and never lost his appreciation of life or sense of calm.

Earlier this year, Daniel underwent a stem-cell transplant in the UK that initially appeared successful. Heartbreakingly, the cancer has now returned. Because this relapse occurred within a year of the transplant, a second procedure cannot be offered in the UK.

A specialist team in Dresden, Germany, has reviewed Daniel’s case and offered to attempt a second stem-cell transplant using his sister as a donor, followed by an experimental therapy that has shown early promise in similar situations. The treatment is extremely intensive but represents an option for Daniel and his loved ones.

Our goal: To raise €160,000 total (140K GBP) — covering the €150,000 hospital deposit plus additional funds for travel, accommodation for Daniel's family during his treatment, and additional outpatient costs.
