Salish Middle School teachers are very excited to be taking a group of 20 middle and high school students on a week long trip to our nation's capital!
We believe ALL students deserve to have these sorts of opportunities, and that the cost should not be a barrier to entry for learning. However, many of the families that our district serves struggle to cover the all-inclusive price.
That is where you come in.
We are looking for any help you can provide towards making the trip accessible to all of our students. All of the money raised will go towards assisting families in making payments for this educational Washington D.C. trip.
Our goal is $2000, which is the full cost of a student's participation on the trip: flights, hotels, events, meals, and guides.
The Spring Break 2020 Washington D.C. trip is scheduled for April 4th to April 8th. The itinerary includes historic and cultural significant activities, such as:
- Touring Mount Vernon & the Home of George Washington
- Exploring the African-American History Museum, the Air & Space Museum, the Holocaust Memorial Museum, & several others in the Smithsonian Complex
- Visiting historic locations and monuments such as the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, Ford's Theater, and more
- Learning about the history of our country first-hand with a professional course leader and their enthusiastic 8th Grade Teachers!
And so much more. Please consider making a donation to give a student a once-in-a-lifetime experience of Washington D.C. that might otherwise be out of their reach. We thank you for your support!
