Dear Friends and Family
December 10, 2024, started out as a normal day for my friend Lydia’s son Michael. Michael has had type 2 diabetes since he was 11 yrs old. On this day Michael felt something was right and he was struggling with his sugar levels. Lydia decided to take him to the hospital to see if the doctors could regulate his sugar levels. The doctors ran some test and came back with some devastating news. The doctors informed them that Michael had been diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Michael will no longer be covered under his mother’s health insurance on his next birthday, Jan 25, 2025. His mother Lydia, is a single parent with 4 children and Michael is the second of the four. Lydia is the primary financial provider for their small close knit family. Since Lydia will have to be off of work, in order to be with Michael as he navigates through this challenging journey. Lydia will be depleting all her sick leave and annual leave in a matter of weeks.
Michael is bravely facing this battle with optimism and determination. Michael is very devoted to his mother and his siblings. He loves caring for his dogs and is a car enthusiast .
Treatment for Michael’s condition is going to include the cost for Chemotherapy, Specialized Medication and the cost of the hospital stay. With that said, I am reaching out to ask for support for Michael and his family through the GOFUNDME campaign that has been set up to help cover the significant medical expenses associated with Michael’s treatment.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference in Michael’s fight against leukemia. Michael and his family are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer, whether donating, sharing this campaign with your network, or simply sending positive thoughts.
