Memory Day Ceremony Trip

I have established this fund in an effort to allow my parents to attend a ceremony honoring my late grandfather. On Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:00am; at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC, a ceremony will take place in which Richard Alfred Peloquin, my Mother's Father will be honored. She put together and submitted the application required for this to happen.
During the Memory Day Ceremony my Mother will be able to read my Grandfather's name aloud, and at the conclusion of the ceremony a tribute bearing Richard Peloquin's name will be placed at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. If she is able to attend, my mother will be able to place this tribute herself, in addition to the reading.
My goal is to raise the money needed for my parents to travel to Washington, DC and attend this ceremony. It is very important to my mother to attend this ceremony and see her father honored. When his health was failing, my mother left her job to be his primary caretaker. As his health further declined, it became obvious that my grandmother would now need assistance as well due to Alzheimer's. She took on that responsibility, in addition to my father's health issues and then my parents caring for my Dad's father as well.
My mother is the most giving, selfless person I have ever known. She continues to care for my grandmother, as well as her grandchildren. In her "spare" time she recently worked to reunite another Khe Sanh veteran's family with his dog tags that had been found and attended Khe Sanh Veterans reunions with my grandfather when he was still with us.
She has been giving 100% of herself to her family for years, and I wish that I personally had the ability to send her and my father to DC. In addition to the ceremony, this would provide a much needed break for both of my parents and allow them some leisure time away together for the first time in years.
