On January 2, 2022 my cousin, Lindsay Lyons, gave birth to her first child. Before leaving the hospital she was told her blood platelets were abnormal and this was a cause for concern. Lindsay, her fiancé and their new baby boy were discharged from the hospital and she was told to follow up on her blood work. Not even one day at home with her new baby and she developed a high fever, she was told to go to the ER immediately after the hematologist reviewed her labs. Lindsay has been admitted to the hospital since January 7th. Lindsay underwent a bone marrow biopsy, as acute leukemia was suspected.
Lindsay got her results and as suspected she has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Chemotherapy was initiated immediately and she will need to stay in the hospital for at the very least a month. Her newborn baby will not be allowed to stay with her during this devastating time, her fiancé will be able to and we are at the very least thankful for that.
This leaves Lindsay and her fiancé, Kelon, unable to work. They need to be able to afford Lindsay’s health insurance and any other bills they may receive due to her hospital stay.
Any little bit you are able to give to them will be a blessing and we are truly thankful.
Lindsay is asking for prayers at this time. Please lift not only her but her fiancé, Kelon, and their baby boy, Dakelon, in prayer. Please pray for strength and healing.
I want to add that Lindsay just recently lost her Dad to cancer, April of 2021. Not fully processing her own fathers death and now she is faced with her own cancer. I do not have the words to express how gut wrenching this is for our whole family.
Together we are strong and we know Lindsay will fight this! We love you Lindsay!!!
