Our Journey with the support of CCRAN
Donation protected
You would never think it would happen to you or to someone you love.
But in June 2019 the love of my life, Ana, was diagnosed with colon cancer. She had already beaten cancer over 20 years ago and now it came back in another form. As devastating as it is, Ana is faced with another difficult journey and for me, a challenge immeasurable to any I've had in my life. That said, WE WILL OVERCOME the emotional, mental and physical struggles that this disease will throw at us and WE WILL beat this disease together every step of the way!
But we can't, couldn't do it alone. For a couple of months we tried navigating the cancer and medical world seeking even the simplest answers only to be met by overwhelming and confusing challenges. Frustrated and desperate, we were at a loss on what to do next.
And that's when we were finally introduced to CCRAN,
Colorectal Cancer Resource & Action Network, founded by
Filomena Servidio-Italiano.
CCRAN is a non-for-profit PATIENT-FOCUSED organization that has and continues to inform and support us in every step of our journey. In no time, CCRAN and Filomena had us connected to top specialists at Sunnybrook's Odette Cancer Centre. Needless to say, Ana is now under the care of one of the best cancer research centres in the world and is doing well! I can confidently say, CCRAN and Filomena helped save Ana's life.
CCRAN will always be committed to educating and supporting all patients and their caregivers affected by this disease when called upon. The monthly support group meetings, peer-to-peer support for patients and caregivers, research and information sharing on the latest advancements and expert presentations are among the resources available to us - for FREE.
This is the Legacy of CCRAN. March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness month and CCRAN needs all of our support to continue their work to support current patients and caregivers and those after us. The amazing PATIENT ADVOCACY provided by CCRAN is what sets this organization apart from all others and with your help, CCRAN will continue to be there for us, for you and for those after us. CCRAN is in the process of becoming a registered charity. In the meantime, as proud members of CCRAN, Ana and I are doing our part to pay it forward by helping to raise funds to maintain and continue its Legacy. ALL PROCEEDS RAISED WILL GO TO CCRAN to continue their amazing work. Won’t you please support us and CCRAN? Thank you.
Keep smiling, stay strong, much Love
