Baby Emma (daughter of Erika Orban and Erik Astudillo) is a brave and beautiful 16-month-old girl living with a rare genetic disorder that affects her mitochondria—the energy centers of her cells—making it difficult for her body to produce enough energy to grow and develop at a typical rate. This condition has led to seizures and delays in her movement and speech (she can't sit or crawl yet), creating challenges that require specialized therapies, equipment, and care. Unfortunately, because this is a rare disorder, many of the therapies, supplements, and diagnostic tests needed to guide her treatment plan are not covered by insurance, leaving her family to bear the heavy financial burden.
