URGENT MESSAGE from Best Friends of Jamestown!!!
OUR shelter is in BIG trouble! Donation are desperately needed!
The current inflation is a problem for us all and especially for the shelter. Prices of everything have risen for all of us and we, at the shelter, do acknowledge your burden.
Financial times for the shelter have been hard before but, never this hard.
This time is very different and now we are struggling to keep the doors of Best Friends open.
Due to higher expenses, many animal owners are unable to feed and care for their dogs and cats.
As a result:
~ We are getting many more calls from people needing to give up their pets
~ The number of stray dogs abandoned by their owners is growing rapidly
~ Shelters everywhere are full
~ We are unable to send dogs to other shelters and can’t make room for more
~ More abandoned and hungry strays are being found roaming the roads.
We are now out of money and terrified that we may really need to close our doors! This is for real!!
In 2021 we rescued 666 dogs/puppies
Transported 564 to out of town/state no kill rescues
Owner Re-Claim: 20
Adoptions: 27
Owner Surrender: 30
We spent $4,595.19 on dog food in 2021
Gas for the transport van: $2,015.41
Shelter Expenses: $9,110.71
Dog Spay: 83
Cat Spay: 79
Dog Neuter: 48
Cat Neuter: 60
We have monthly vet bills, utilities, insurance on our transport van and the building
All these expenses are on going and must be paid to keep the organization running.
WE NEED HELP URGENTLY!!!
This is NOT a joke, a scam, a false emergency.
We are circling the drain toward closing the doors!
We are begging you for help!!
Thank you from the dogs and all of us at Best Friends!!
Drop off dog food donations can be made at 346 Volunteer Dr, Jamestown between 8-12 is best times. Thank you
