Hello, this is Montaser. I am organizing this fundraiser for my brother Farouk, a 40-year-old Palestinian from our hometown Khan Younis who has mental disabilities. He is currently at the brink of death in Gaza after losing our father/his primary caretaker, who was killed in the ongoing genocide.

After our father’s death, my brother Farouk has been suffering miserably physically, psychologically, and mentally.

He has been going into severe depression, malnutrition, diarrhea, seizures, and collapsing. He needs food, clothing, medicine, a tent, hygiene kit, and basically everything.

Options in Gaza are extremely limited and overpriced, but we are able to get items such as canned tuna, canned fruit, bread, rice, and eggs. For example, water expenses are approximately 50 euros per month, an egg is 5 euros, a can of tuna 2,5 euros, a bag of 25kg of flour is 50 euros, a can of fruits is 15 euros, 1kg of rice is 7 euros and a can of beef is 15 euros.

Farouk also needs a tent (which costs around 1000 euros), clothing (costing around 300 euros), a mattress, and epilepsy medication. In addition, we must support our cousin (with 200 euros per month), who has agreed to begin taking care of him—helping with daily needs such as cooking and bathing—until we can evacuate him from Gaza and reunite him with the rest of our family. We are also worried about my brother's hygiene and urgently need to provide him with an hygiene kit, which could cost around 70 euros.

Considering all of Farouk’s needs, we estimate that around €2,000 per month is required to care for him. We expect the evacuation process may take over a year, so our fundraising goals are based on this estimate.

Any additional funds raised will go towards supporting my brother's evacuation, reunion with our family and his medical recovery outside of Gaza.
