Fuck Hollywood Productions was born out of frustration with the traditional film industry and a desire to create something new. Led by myself, Daddy, and with the guidance of our advisory board member Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter, our studio is committed to breaking down barriers for up-and-coming online creators. After years of watching the studio system move slowly and cautiously, I saw firsthand how much more could be accomplished when creators take control. This summer, when we raised funding for our first feature, A Nightmare On Malcolm X Blvd (starring Ilana Glazer), on Kickstarter—faster than any studio project I’d worked on—it became clear that a new path was possible. We are now currently seeking funding to fund general operations for our operation as a mini indie studio! We set our goal at $10,000 but ideally we'd love to hit $25,000!
Our mission is to produce high-quality, low-cost films and content that speak directly to young, underrepresented millennial and Gen Z audiences who want fearless and exciting art that doesn't shy away from controversy. We’re genre-agnostic but have a passion for comedic, genre-bending stories that highlight marginalized voices in exciting ways. This summer, our short film, Supernigga, reached 400,000 views in a month, proving there’s a real hunger for bold, original work. We also want to give back by hosting screenings, panels, and workshops to educate and inspire, and by creating unique merchandise for our fans, much like studios such as A24. Your funds will help us produce high-quality videos/photos to market our company, help fund educational events and merch, as well as help us cover development costs on projects.
At Fuck Hollywood Productions, we believe you don’t need permission from the industry to make your dreams a reality. Our goal is to empower a new generation of filmmakers and fans to build community, support each other, and create art that matters. With your support, we can continue to challenge the status quo and show that the future of film belongs to everyone.
