Help Nicolas Attend his Dream School

My name is Nicolas Medel, and I am currently in my junior year at Trenton High School. At this present date, I am ranked number 1 in my class of 225 students boasting a 4.18 weighted GPA and a 4.0 unweighted. Throughout my years at Trenton High I have held office in student council every year, as well as being elected a representative of the Be the Change Club. In addition to this, I have also been an active member in my School's math team, Interact Club, Spanish National Honor society, and National Honor Society. Though these clubs take up much of my time and effort, I have managed to earn three Varsity letters in the sports of football, swimming, and rowing. With these sports I have been able to earn a collective four state and international medals, a qualifying spot in my county's swim meet, and a part of a strong playoff football team. On top of this, I try to actively take part in my church's activities and tutor my peers. With all of this in mind, I decided to take my shot at applying for Stanford's summer session. This program is designed to put highschoolers in a college environment over their 11th to 12th grade summer in which they would live on campus and take college classes. Having this program under your belt helps greatly increase your chances of getting into prestigious colleges such as Stanford. In addition to this, the program also works to prepare you for a rigorous college experience by taking actual Stanford classes. The goal of the program is to not only improve yourself academically but  socially as you are thrown into a completely scary yet exciting atmosphere where you can grow as a person and as more, me work on becoming a fully independent adult. For several weeks I worked tirelessly on the application hoping to catch Stanford's eye, and maybe, just maybe, be accepted to this opportunity of a lifetime. After multiple revising sessions I had finally completed and submitted the application in which I would be judged upon whether I had the potential to be Stanford material. A few weeks after the submission, I had woken up at 6 am for a swim meet and was getting ready for the long day of competition. As I went to check my email as I do everyday, I noticed a bold heading saying "STANFORD SUMMER SESSION EARLY ACTION RESULTS". My heart instantly sank as I knew that I had been judged and was about to read what Stanford thought of me.  As my tired morning eyes tried to read the small print of the decision my heart began to race until I read the word  "congratulations". I instantly couldn't believe that I had made the cut. I kept rereading the word over and over to remind myself that I might actually achieve my goal of 10 years. My goal of going to Stanford. For years, people told me a kid from a small town in Michigan could never make it. That I didn't have the natural smarts or the privilege of being rich that one needs to get in. Little did those teachers, friends, and even family members know that I would work so desperately to achieve my goal, and it is for this exact reason why I need your help. After my mother had to leave my sister and I a few years ago, finances are pretty tight, and as a result I desperately need your help in raising the necessary funds that would send me to Stanford this summer so I can finally prove all the naysayers wrong.
