Merry Christmas.
As you celebrate this Christmas season, thinking back on Christmas past, reminiscing over photos and memories, please, pause for one minute.  This beautiful princess spent last Sunday decorating christmas cookies with friends.  Although she has been fighting neuroblastoma for the past three years she continues to enjoy the simple things.  Today Alannah and her family were told that the cancer has spread and Alannah time here is limited.  She and her family have spent the better part of her young life fighting and still have to face this sad sad reality.

The family has struggled through tough times and financial issues, with all the costs and lost time from work.  Her mother is unemployed so that she is available at all times for doctor appts. and treatments.  Dad does his best but we all know, a one income household is a struggle.  The family has resided in the area, but has recently been able to  purchase a home in Webster WI where Alannah attends school.  Now this!  Having to choose between survival and your daughter is something no family should ever have to face.

I know times are tough for everyone but I can't imagine the heartbreak this family is going through, not to mention the fear this 10 year old girl is experiencing.  I pray to each and everyone of you to PLEASE take away just one of the gifts you are going to give to someone and share that cost with this family.  They need to create the memories that will sustain them for life.  They need to spend all the time they have with their daughter.  And yet, they need to pay thier bills.  Life is not easy but no one should suffer all this especially during a holiday season.  We can all afford a small amount.  Many small amounts can make a great gift.
