Bring Marcus Home

Undoubtedly, 2020 has been a difficult year for many. This week has been particularly hard for our family with the passing of our brother and my mother's eldest son, Marcus.
As a child, he was remarkably bright and loved to read.  He had an amazing imagination and loved Harry Potter. As a teen, he had a sense of curiosity and loved animals, especially dogs.  Unfortunately, in his midteens, Marcus began to experience  behavior challenges and was later diagnosed with  a rapid and debilitating  form of schizophrenia. Despite his struggles, he loved his family and enjoyed helping others.
On November 22, after being missing for over a month, Marcus was struck by a train  and killed in Berkeley.
Our family is grateful  to everyone  who befriended  and helped  Marcus as he became increasingly impaired for the past 15 years. We are devastated with the handling of mental health in our nation and pray that no one has to suffer a senseless loss such as this. Marcus  will be remembered  as a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend.
At this time we are attempting  to raise the funds to bring Marcus back to Sacramento so that we may lay him to rest. We understand that this year has been financially  difficult for many. If you are unable to contribute, please share this with friends and/or share any memory you have of Marcus. Thank you so. much for your support.
