I am an animal science student at Michigan State University. I started working at a dairy, and it caused me to fall in love with the work and the animals. There are aspects to the industry that I personally, as well as consumers, would generally love to see change. 

My dream is to start a farm that is a cross between a beef cow/calf operation and a dairy. Calves will be dam-raised on pasture, as I love the sound of the benefits of such a setting. Regenerative, sustainable practices will be followed. Cows will receive plenty of enrichment and individualized attention. Ultimately I’d like my own creamery and even to start my own co-op where farmers with similar farms all raise cattle using the same methods. 

I do not come from a farm background and need land before I even get my foot in the door. There are a few cows at my current work I dearly want to buy to get started.
